Pain of dental malpractice
Jill Webb, a partner at Phillips Law Office in the Loop, has handled many dental malpractice cases. She agrees with Baxter's assessment and believes that more patients would file malpractice claims if they knew how. "I don't think consumers are aware they have the ability and right to report problems to the state authorities" at the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Webb said. Katie English had no idea she could file such a complaint. When a patient does initiate a complaint against a dentist, state regulators look into it. If they find evidence of malpractice, a dentist may face a reprimand, fine or probation. His or her license also may be suspended or revoked. Patients may decide to sue, but this route is more difficult.

Ministers plan to scrap car tax as sweetener for road tolls
What we want to do is not to increase tax but to have a fair tax for motorists which is about cutting climate change and congestion. That means taking on vehicle excise duties and petrol taxes. The whole basket of current taxes needs to be looked at to change the focus. "We would abolish vehicle excise duty, which all motorists must pay, with a revenue neutral scheme. It would be based on how, when and where people use their vehicles." Scott said he still preferred a UK-wide approach but insi .
Hooked on sun-dried tomatoes
There's nothing worse than a convert, and I have become one, so look out. I doubt there is anyone in the United States who has scorned sun-dried tomatoes more than I have. I teased people who bought them, refused sandwiches made with them, questioned their very right to exist. To the extent I acknowledged that it might be acceptable to shrivel a perfectly good plum tomato, I argued that the only proper way to do it was gently, in the oven, with olive oil and perhaps some thyme and garlic. Sun-dried tomatoes first came here around 1979. ''I was walking around in Cannes,'' recalled Steve Jenkins, now a partner at Fairway Markets but then an employee of Dean & DeLuca, ''when I went into a great store in the old town. There were big, five-kilo tins hanging from the ceiling, filled with these beautiful dried tomatoes in oil — they were from San Remo, over in Liguria.

Armstrong's Live Well program joining Wellness Community
They like to call themselves "the best-kept secret in Central Jersey." But now that the Lance Armstrong Foundation has found them, that doesn't figure to last much longer. The Wellness Community of Central New Jersey has been there to support cancer patients and survivors since 2004, when the concept first emerged from Eunice Jadlocki's living room to temporary quarters at the Van Horne house in Somerville -- and then to its permanent location at 3 Crossroads Drive in Bedminster in 2005. Since 2004, more than 600 participants have taken advantage of the community's support groups and individualized programs. These include not only those stricken with cancer, but caregivers and family members, too. Now, the nonprofit agency, which is supported entirely by donations, has been selected for the Live Well program funded by the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
