Diop steps up for Dallas Mavericks
DeSagana Diop became the latest, following Trenton Hassell and Devean George, to come from nowhere to have a huge impact on a Mavericks win. Diop had played a grand total of 22 minutes in the previous five games, including one in which he sat for all 48 minutes. So he rolled up 25 minutes against the Memphis Grizzlies and did exactly what his coach was hoping. Avery Johnson had a sit-down with Diop at the morning practice session and told the 7-footer in no uncertain terms that he was going to have to play – and play well – while Erick Dampier missed the Memphis game with a sprained right ankle. .

Nakamura lights up mundane victory
